My Apple Head Witch Doll Pattern Published in Soft Dolls & Animals Magazine Nov 2013

H

My newest doll pattern was just published in the November, 2013 issue of Soft Dolls & Animals Magazine. Her face is on the cover in a tiny square:).  She is a REAL Apple Head Witch stump doll. She was so much fun to create and ready for a night on the town.
I wanted to bring back the very popular Apple Head Dolls from years gone by with an update. She has glass eyes, fake eyelashes, makeup and teeth, not to mention her fancy Witch costume.
The most enjoyable part of this doll is after you carve the apple, is watching it as it shrinks down to about 1/3rd of the original size of the apple which takes about 5 weeks, depending on the climate where you live. Carve several at a time and they will all have a personality of they're own.
I am also offering her in a longer more detailed doll pattern that is available in both my shops at:

New, Pink Fairy Doll by Caroline Erbsland 2013

This is my newest doll creation, sorry there is no pattern, just wanted to play:)
She is a Pink Fairy of the enchanted garden. I haven't picked a name for her yet. She is
one of a kind, all cloth, hand sculpted and painted with wire armature.
I wanted her wings to be lace so I wired and beaded them and added a sequin applique to give the wings more support and of course sprinkled some fairy dust on her wings. I had such fun creating her fairy garden, starting with a wooden base and building up from there. Thanks for stopping by! Caroline xoxo

Apple Head Witch Doll 2013

Hello...

I just finished making this Apple Head Witch Doll, yes her face is made out of a real
apple. Do you remember years ago when they were so popular. Well I thought I would bring it back with a twist, lol!!
I started off by carving the face from a large apple, about 3'', after 5 months the apple
shrunk down to just over 1". What fun it is to watch it shring down, it's fascinating!
I gave her green glass eyes, false teeth, fake eyelashes and ofcourse make up, including
lipstick, eye shadow, eyebrows and ofcourse blush. She has purple nails, with rings on
her fingers and ofcourse crystal drop earings.
I will be making a doll pattern for her incase you want to make one yourself.

Enjoy and have a great day!
